Christian Counselling: Healing Through Faith

“Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

Philippians 4:6 (NRSVCE)

At Endue Counselling Services, I understand that life’s struggles can be overwhelming, and sometimes the best place to turn is your faith in God. As a Christian counsellor, I offer a space where the teachings of Christ and Christian principles can be part of your healing process. However, it’s important to know that prayer and faith-based guidance are never forced upon you—these are offered only if you feel called to include them in your counselling journey.

My Faith Story

Our faith forms a vital part of who we are and how we choose to live. Many Christians seek a counsellor who respects and aligns with their faith values and beliefs. For me, this journey began early.

I was introduced to Jesus in my childhood by attending The Holy Mass every Sunday with my family. It was a non-negotiable in our household. However, I didn’t truly experience a personal relationship with Christ until my early 20s when I became involved in a Catholic youth group. It was during this time, as I served God’s people in local ministries, that He opened my heart to caring for others. This call led me to explore pastoral care and, ultimately, counselling.

My Christian faith guides how I care for people. It shapes the compassion and understanding I bring into my counselling practice. It also grounds me, keeps me humble, and allows me to glorify God. However, I also deeply respect the autonomy and values of each client. Whether or not they share my faith, I ensure that my approach honours their individual needs and beliefs, never imposing my worldview.

The Role of Prayer in Counselling

Prayer can be a powerful and transformative part of the counselling process. Here’s why prayer can be so impactful:

  1. Offering Peace in God’s Presence: When life feels chaotic, prayer is a way to lay your burdens at the feet of Jesus. It brings a sense of peace, knowing that God is with you, even in the toughest times. For many, the act of prayer is a reminder that we are never alone in our struggles.

  2. Strengthening Faith During Trials: Trials are a part of life, but with prayer, we can find strength in God's promises. It’s a way to draw nearer to Him, knowing that He is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

  3. Finding Forgiveness and Healing in Christ: The Bible teaches us about the importance of forgiveness, both for ourselves and others. In prayer, we can bring our hurts, our guilt, and our need for healing to God. Through His grace, we can experience the freedom that comes from forgiveness and start the path toward healing.

  4. Guiding You Towards God’s Plan: Life can often leave us feeling lost or unsure of what direction to take. Prayer opens the door for reflection and allows you to seek God's guidance for your life. It provides a space to listen and discern His will, leaning on the wisdom found in Scripture.

Your Choice, Your Journey

In my practice, I meet you where you are. If Christian or faith-based counselling are not something you’re comfortable with, that’s okay. I’ll work with you in a way that aligns with your core values and goals. But if you desire to bring prayer into your sessions, I’m here to join you in lifting your needs to God, trusting in His love and guidance.

Finding Wholeness Through Faith

Faith can be the anchor that helps us stay grounded when the waves of life come crashing in. Christian counselling invites you to align your mental and emotional health with your faith in Christ.

Whether you’re looking to explore Christian-led counselling or simply seeking a compassionate space to talk, I’m here to walk alongside you in your journey. My goal is to provide the support you need so you can find hope, healing, and peace.
