Terms of Service
Introduction
Welcome to Endue Counselling Services. These Terms of Service outline the rules and regulations for using my telehealth counselling services. By accessing and using my telehealth services, you (“the client”) agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. It is your right to have a complete explanation for any questions you may have, now or in the future. Although I know this may be uncomfortable at times, your openness and honesty will allow me to better serve you.
1. Eligibility
To use my telehealth counselling services, you must be at least 18 years old and currently reside in Australia. I do not offer counselling services to those aged 18 years and younger at this time. You must reside in a region where my services are available (Australian residents only).
2. Confidentiality
All telehealth counselling sessions are confidential. I use secure, encrypted video conferencing platforms to ensure your privacy. However, it is your responsibility to ensure that your environment is private and free from interruptions during the session.
3. Informed Consent
By using my telehealth services, you consent to the use of telecommunication technology for counselling sessions. You understand that telehealth counselling has limitations compared to in-person sessions, including the potential for technical issues, interruptions, unauthorised access, and technical difficulties. You understand that either of us can discontinue the telehealth session if we feel that the videoconferencing connections are not adequate for the situation.
4. Appointment Scheduling and Cancellations
Appointments must be scheduled in advance. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. You will be responsible for the entire session fee if cancellation is less than 24 hours. Cancellations and rescheduled sessions may be subject to a full charge if not received at least 24 hours in advance. This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you and is held exclusively for you.
5. Payment and Fees
Fees for telehealth counselling services are as follows:
15-minute enquiry call: FREE
First 60-minute counselling session: $140.00 (AUD)
Subsequent 60-minute counselling sessions: $120.00 (AUD) per session
Full payment is required from the issue date of the invoice. I accept payment either via credit or debit card (except AMEX), and bank transfer.
6. Technical Requirements
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary technology (a device with internet access, a camera, and a microphone) to participate in telehealth sessions. I recommend testing your setup before your first session.
7. Emergency Situations
Telehealth counselling is not suitable for crisis situations. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact emergency services on ‘000’ or go to the nearest hospital. For crisis support, contact Lifeline Australia on 13 11 14.
8. Termination of Services
You may terminate your use of my telehealth services at any time. All professional therapeutic relationships must eventually come to an end. Closure of the counselling relationship is an important step for all clients and one that I strive to handle carefully in collaboration with you. Termination of services may arise for several reasons:
If you have reached all your desired counselling goals
If you require a higher level of services or a different kind of specialised treatment (i.e., inpatient care)
If I am unable or unwilling to continue services for an appropriate reason: retiring, moving, or having had a life change that prevents me from continuing my practice
If a conflict of interest is identified after treatment begins
If you fail to participate in therapy (i.e., not showing up for appointments, not complying with treatment recommendations)
If you fail to communicate with me (i.e., not responding to appropriate communications prior to termination)
Should you fail to schedule an appointment for 30 days, unless other arrangements have been made in advance, for legal and ethical reasons, I must consider the professional relationship discontinued.
9. Liability
While I strive to provide high-quality individual counselling services, I cannot guarantee any specific outcomes. You agree to release Endue Counselling Services from any liability related to your use of my counselling services, except as required by law.
10. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New South Wales (NSW), Australia.
